The stage for this section of writing has been set by the previous write up. Let’s go ahead and explore, understand the process after the itch. The process is named as ‘The cooking’ because of its nature.
“Cooking is the process of discovery of the least resistant path of life”.
If the itch was the spark that made you notice resistance within yourself, then cooking is what follows. Cooking happens in the space between two itches. Once you recognize the itch and become aware of it, you step into a phase of “being cooked.”
The itch tells you something isn’t sitting well in life. Cooking then becomes the testing ground — a period where you explore options, adjust perspectives, and gradually find the path of least resistance. This path allows you to flow with life more smoothly, bringing greater ease and joy.
Just like the itch, the cooking process can also be classified and understood in layers.
The Whirlpool Effect
Now here’s something I find fascinating.
If you observe your own life — or even the lives of those around you — you’ll notice that many people move in circles. I call this the whirlpool effect.
It shows up in health, money, relationships, or careers. Someone keeps attracting the same kind of partner, or finds themselves stuck in similar jobs, without realizing it is their own beliefs and mental patterns creating the repetition.
At the center of the whirlpool lies stillness. In the depth of cooking, when you stop fighting the pull and surrender inward, you touch that stillness — the quiet of your own heart. That’s when realization dawns: “I’ve been holding on to beliefs or thoughts that no longer serve me.”
When the old ways are released, new thoughts emerge. And with them, fresh experiences unfold.
Often, this turning point comes through deep stress, desperation, or crisis — moments where clarity suddenly breaks through. Once this clarity arises, whether consciously or unconsciously, the whirlpool loses its grip. You get “spit out” and break free from the old pattern.
Some people need only one rotation in the whirlpool to learn; others may circle many times. Take a moment to reflect: can you see this pattern in your own life?
Cooking as Transformation
“Raw vegetables and spices are transformed into a tasty soup only through cooking. In the same way, difficulties and problems exist to guide you — pushing you to change direction and move closer to happiness.”
The itch marks the beginning of cooking. Clarity and peace mark the end of it.
This may sound linear, but life rarely is. In reality, the cycle of itch and cooking repeats many times. From a bigger perspective, life itself is one long cooking process — filled with countless itches, countless transformations, and countless moments of clarity.
Together, this dance of itch and cooking shapes what we call life. Or, as I like to say — the ambrosia called Love.
In the next write-up, we’ll continue exploring this journey of life.
